Crinum x powellii
This is a well known hybrid that was developed in the late 1880's using crinum bulbispermum x crinum mooreii. Both pink and white cultivars are well known and widely available. A pink cultivar is produced in the Netherlands and widely available in the United States.
This hybrid is suitable for use in full sun or part shade. Flowers tend to fade when located in the full Central Texas sun, while partial shade produces more color stability.
This hybrid produces numerous offsets. While a hybrid, this cultivar has produced an occassional seed in its current location. Two viable seedlings were produced from 2006 seed. The cultivar is located next to a bed of crinum bulbispermum, reported to be one the the parents of the cultivar.
This hybrid is reported to be hardy through Zone 5 in a garden setting.
